The City of Folsom is developing a Central Business District Master Plan for the important retail and commercial corridor located on East Bidwell Street and Riley Street, between Sutter Middle School and Blue Ravine Road. It includes the aquatic center and Lembi Park.
Progress continues on the master plan that will guide future development and infrastructure improvements, which may include:
Mixed-use residential development
Economic development
Commercial corridor revitalization
Placemaking and design, lighting, and landscaping
Traffic calming
Pedestrian and bicycle improvements
Traffic and pedestrian safety
Parking strategies
Outreach strategies
A project status report was presented to the City Council at its May 14 meeting. The master planning process is guided by a citizen’s advisory committee. The committee’s the next meeting will be held at 3 p.m. June 10 at the Folsom Community Center, 52 Natoma Street.
