Incorporated in 1946, the City of Folsom covers 30 square miles with a population of 82,303. Folsom is a business-friendly city government and a full-service city, with its own water, wastewater, and solid waste utilities, along with police, fire, public works, planning, and parks, recreation, and library services. Folsom’s strategic location is ideal for business and leisure. The city is located just east of Sacramento with access to two of California’s major transportation corridors, I-5 to the north and south and I-80 to the east and west. We’re just 10 minutes from Mather Jet Center, 20 miles to downtown Sacramento, and 40 minutes from the Sacramento International Airport. The Port of Sacramento is just 25 miles from Folsom. Sacramento Regional Transit light rail connects Folsom to Downtown Sacramento, with three stops in Folsom.
